Firstly, thank you for finding me and my blog!
I am a mom of a beautiful baby girl (she’ll be one next month–sob!), and I live with my husband, my high school sweetheart and love of my life. Family is the most important thing to me. Being a mommy and spending time with my gorgeous husband is the best gift from God. Yes…I read it, too, and it is sickening! It’s true, though. I’ve been blessed with more than I deserve. I am grateful.
I have learned that life is short, and I do not take this for granted. I have a full-time job and responsibilities like everyone, but I believe in the value of seizing the day and sucking every ounce of life out of it. Carpe diem!
Living in small town America, I have been an elementary school counselor for 6 years: it is a job which I absolutely love. Yes, there are many difficult subjects that I face as a counselor, but I entered into education because I love working with children and every day is never the same. I’ve never had a job where I received so many hugs each day. I would love to think that I have made an impact and made a lasting impression on at least one child that I have worked with and that maybe this will make a positive influence on the human condition.
All it takes is one person to make a difference.
In all honesty, I’m a lady of leisure at heart. I’ve worked hard all of my life, but I dream of being be a stay at home mom and full-time writer/author…once my daughter and future kids (if any) are in school, of course! I’d be perfectly content playing the role of carpool and soccer mom. This would be followed by lunch with the girls, dinner on the table, and an immaculate house. I love fashion, travel, movies, music, celeb gossip, and food. I must have lived in Paris in another lifetime, because I often view life through rose-colored glasses, and I am a geek for all things European. I try to eek the most out of each day, but I’m not going to lie…I’m perfectly fine with a Hallmark movie marathon, in pjs, and a fine glass of wine before bedtime.
I decided to write this blog on my path to publication. I am a writer of picture books and adult fiction and non-fiction. Writing is my PASSION! This is a cathartic journey for me. I’m a former therapist, and I’m going to use this blog as my own self-help release. Even the counselor needs therapeutic intervention.
I aim to share with you the things in my life, that I love and that inspire me. I hope to make friends and followers that share the same eccentricities that this woman and writer is made of. We will share our highs and lows, our goals and motivation, and our victories.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Counseling, and I have worked in the mental health field for the last decade.
